Series 1 and 2
Land Double and Land Blind
The mat faces NW, on a small mound overlooking a field dotted with trees and thick cover patches.
Bird #1 is a dead Rooster Pheasant, thrown left to right, landing 225 yards from the line. The gun station retires as soon as the dog is sent for the flyer. We’ll refer to this bird as LF for Left Retired.
Bird #2 is a Rooster Pheasant Flyer, shot left to right, landing 125 yards from the mat. We’ll refer to this bird F for Flyer.
Blind: Once the handler picks up the memory bird, a duck is planted 205 yards from the mat. The handler moves 8 yards to the right to prepare for the blind.
The line to the blind takes the dog across rolling terrain, slides to the left of a haybale and through several patches of thick cover.
This test is taking approximately 5 minutes per dog to complete.
